Trisha's Thoughts

The Red Pill

About 8 years ago I took the ‘Red Pill’ and it changed my way of looking at life.  I see through the lines, I see things most people choose to bury their heads about.  I see all of the things buried beneath the lies.  Sometimes it drives me crazy how blind people are to the truths, and how they choose to bury their heads in the sand because they are scared to know the truth and I just want to scream.

I really think that some of my family and friends probably thinks that I’m going mad, but I’m not.  I choose to not live in a world full of cotton candy clouds and unicorns and live in a world where I see the real world.  ‘The world that has been pulled over our eyes to blind us from the truth’.

I get the term the ‘Red Pill’ from the movie the Matrix.  In this scene  Morpheus alludes to the fact that the reality that Neo is accustomed to is a lie and that Morpheus can show him the truth. He is asked to make a choice between two pills, red and blue. The blue pill will cause him to “wake up in [his] bed and believe whatever [he] want[s] to believe.” He is told that if he takes the red pill, however, he will “stay in Wonderland” and Morpheus will “show [him] how deep the rabbit hole goes,” an allusion to Alice in Wonderland:

For an example of how our government wants us to see; President Obama made news once by saying, in both a press conference and an interview “If there’s a blue pill and a red pill, and the blue pill is half the price of the red pill and works just as well, why not pay half price for the thing that’s going to make you well?”  He is subliminally telling us to take the ‘Blue Pill’. Why? Because he doesn’t want us to see the truth. President Obama has been trained in persuasion and body language so he can influence and persuade his audience.

I see the world this way and have taught my children to see this way.  My children know who their enemy is and know what they have to do in order to protect their futures.  They see the truth and won’t try to run from it.  But my children also know how to love, how to live, and how to laugh.  With all of these things that I have taught my children I can honestly say that I am a proud mama!

Until next time…..
